Our love for photography soared to new heights when our three beautiful children arrived into our lives. They continue to remind us that the greatest happiness in life is family happiness. We combine our artistic passion, creative style, and latest digital photography technology to deliver unique and engaging photography for our clients. We create pieces of art featuring your family, your kids, your parents, your newborn baby, your friends…your anything.

About Our Approach

We strive to achieve a level of quality you won’t find anywhere else in the northeastern metro Detroit area. We approach each session with an open mind to portray each person with a timeless, classic look. We prefer to shoot in urban areas, parks, and other interesting local spots. If there is someplace that is special to you, that’s great, we’ll make it work!

Right now we live in northeastern Metro Detroit servicing Shelby Township, Macomb Township, Clinton Township, Harrison Township and surrounding local areas. Our local area provides a unique combination interesting photo locations such as parks, old buildings, abandoned areas, brick walls, train tracks, etc.

The kind of things we like to shoot are seniors, families, kids, babies, couples, newly engaged and whatever else you can throw our way!

Planning Consultation

All Unified Photography clients are invited to attend a one-on-one consultation with our portrait design specialist. We can design your portrait to be a perfect compliment to you home. Every step is so important; clothing choices, sizing, scaling, multiple prints, finishing technique, and of course framing and design. Let our design specialist take the stress out of every step for you. You and your family will be able to just sit back, relax, and watch as Lori creates your own personal masterpiece. Our goal is for you to enjoy these images as decor in your home for many years to come!

Photo Session Expectations

We can accommodate most times but we prefer our shoots occur in the very early evening hours, usually around 60-90 minutes before sunset. This is the ideal time of the day which provides a complementing natural soft light. We shoot for around an hour and it’s a very casual kind of stroll around whatever location we choose. We want to let you have more control over what you want to do…if that’s what you like. We’d rather capture our clients in natural poses…hugging, walking together…laughing.

If the photo session requires we shoot indoors, then almost anytime is good.

What to Wear?

This is completely up to you of course. Ideally though, you want to coordinate but not be identically matched. We’ll help

If you want to switch clothes midway through the shoot, that is zero problem.

After the Shoot

Once our session is over, we will go through all the images and narrow our favorites down to approximately 15-30. These will be custom edited for color, black & white, blemishes and cropping. Unless you let me know ahead of time, we process images in color or B&W based on each individual shot and how we think it will look the best.

Next we will post around 10-20 of our favorites on the Unified Photography website in a private online gallery where you can view a full slideshow of all your pictures. The viewing of the final images can take up to two weeks and possibly longer during the Christmas season.
